An official of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA),
Rev. Segun Folayan, has tasked Government Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to develop websites that would facilitate the delivery of quality service to Nigerians.
Folayan, who is the Head, Domains and Government Websites in the agency, made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.
He spoke on the sidelines of a 2-day capacity building programme on website development and hosting organised for MDAs by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms in collaboration with Nigeria Internet Registration Association.
“The creation, renewal and remodeling of government websites is not just for information dissemination, but also intended to interact and carry out transactions with users,” he said.
According to him, NITDA is working to create hybrid ICT platforms for government offices to fast track the delivery of desired services to the citizens.
“We want to offer web designs that people can speak, ask questions and get prompt replies and services,” he added.
Also, Mr Ikechukwu Ezeji, Programme Manager of Nigeria Internet Registration Academy, said the ongoing workshop for MDAs was to enhance the capability of personnel in web development and hosting.
He said that the aim was for the MDAs to deliver services faster to citizens and ensure larger development impact.(NAN)
