The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has said he will work day and night to make Nigeria a better country for young citizens.
Tinubu who is a former Lagos governor made this statement when he received certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday.
“To you, the people, especially the youths, I will work day and night. I will work to the utmost of my ability to make Nigeria better,” Mr Tinubu said.
Earlier on Wednesday, Tinubu who ran under the umbrella of the Salt Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner of Saturday’s presidential election by the chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu.
Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, winning 12 of 36 states in Nigeria.
Mr Abubakar polled 6,984,520 votes, while Peter Obi of the Labour Party, came third, polling 6,101,533 votes.
