Fire has gutted a residential building in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, destroying goods and property worth millions of naira.
The incident which happened at Gaa-Akanbi area of Ilorin South Local Government Area on Tuesday was reported to be as a result of electric power surge.
Five rooms in the eight-room rented building were affected.
Speaking on the incident, the Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, urged people to cultivate the habit of switching off their electrical appliances before going to bed, noting that it would help prevent fire outbreak.
