Bandits on Tuesday night killed 23 persons and abducted several others during separate attacks in two villages of Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Many other residents also sustained gunshot injuries during the attacks.
The Nation recalls bandits had attacked nine villages in Giwa Local Government, killing 50 and abducted many.
Tuesday’s night attack was the fourth in Giwa Local Government area in March 2022.
A resident of the community told journalists the bandits came in large numbers, shooting sporadically.
Many residents, who ran for safety, were hit by bandits’ bullet.
Kaduna Police spokesman ASP Mohammed Jalige said he will contact the DPO in charge of Giwa and get back to The Nation but was yet to do so as at press time.
