APC Chairmanship: Gov Sule Backs Al-Makura

Governor Sule backs Al-Makura for APC Chairmanship

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has stated that the state deserved to be compensated for helping to midwife the birth of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with the brinkmanship of his predecessor, Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura.

The Governor stated this while playing host to a delegation of National Committee of APC Support Groups for Al-Makura (NACASA) led by the National Chairman  Chief Nonso David Ezedimma.

In a statement issued by the National Chairman of the group, the governor promised to continue to lobby all the key stakeholders in the party to support Nasarawa State for the next Chairmanship of APC.

Sule said the choice of selecting who heads the party should be squarely on the members, not a few individuals.

While commending NACASA for promoting his former boss for the APC National Chairmanship, he urged the group to proceed with caution, until the position is finally zoned to the North Central, particularly, Nasarawa.

He said, as the initiator of the project, he had started consulting with the key stakeholders of APC, in an effort to get the position zoned to Nasarawa.

He stated that zoning the position to Nasarawa was justified, fair and equitable, given the role that the state played as the only Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) state that was involved at the formative stage of the APC.

While lauding the leadership of NACASA leadership for giving him the honour of as National Patron of the group, he however pledged to support the NACASA group as soon as the zoning has been done in favour of Nasarawa State.

“The extent to which one can do anything well or right is determined by the extent to which he or she knows it well.

“We will stand by Senator Al-Makura to achieve his aspiration to lead the APC”, he added.
